Sunblock?

Do you know a good sunblock lotion? I tried one from Banana Boat and man, there is something in there that triggered my skin to respond with a lot of redness. It was itchy and I had to scratch myself so bad, it was horrible. The only way for me to get it off was to take a shower immediately. I get sunburns fast and so I depend on a good sunblock lotion for when being out in the sun.

A friend mentioned several high end products and they seem to be of better quality. So, I might try that and stay away from the cheap sunblock solutions that my local supermarket carries. In particular my friend suggested a Peter Thomas Roth oil-free sunscreen. It is supposed to be super light on the skin and the SPF 30 is usually more than sufficient as I do not stay longer than 2 hours in the sun.

So, I will keep you posted about this sunblock and if it works out or not. What sunscreen are you using?

Waterbeds suck ….

… when they are broken. I am still waiting for mine to be fixed. Sleeping on the couch is nice, but just not comfortable if you have to do it for weeks. Yuck. My back hurts and it is just not a good feeling. I want a new waterbed.I never want to get up in the morning as it feels like a lottery. Is the back pain still there? Has it gotten worse? Heck, I am getting old. I slept on hard surfaces without a problem when I was a teenager. Gosh – should I sign up for elderly care now maybe?

Lawyers for the elderly

Do elderly people need different lawyers than the rest of us? My grandma is getting sued by her retirement home association for using too much of the facilities. The whole situation is really weird and of course she is very upset. She joined the retirement home to live in peace and to not have to worry about all the daily issues you have when living in your own home. And now this. We need a lawyer.

I think I will change careers

I am sick of my job in IT. I do not mind the long hours, but the on call stuff with 24/7/365 is just killing me. I have not had a weekend off in 6 weeks without being called into work. The break before then was just 8 days. It has gotten a drag to go to work. I want something new. I have been looking around a career in nursing seems to rewarding and pays comparable or better than working in IT. I would still have the long hours but shifts are usually cut to 12 hours and you work only 3 or 4 days a week. I will have to check where and how to get my degree in nursing.

Tax Season 2007

Is it already tax season? Yes, it is. You have approx. 3 months from today to file your tax return for the year 2006. So, r do not just sit back with a hot cup of chocolate and wait for April 15 to arrive. Better get up and sort your paperwork and make sure you got everything in place.

What tax software will you be using? Are you going to HR Block to get your taxes done? Or do you have a friend or family member who prepares your taxes? No matter where you go you should have a basic understanding of how your tax situation looks like.

Better Microwave

Our microwave oven broke and just stopped working. This Panasonic microwave oven served us well since 1998. The main feature of this microwave oven I really liked was the quick minute button. You could even add minutes to a running program. With the new one I have the fear I am developing the carpal tunnel syndrome on my right hand. This is crazy. My wife already suggested to find a good lawyer and sue the heck out of Sanyo – the maker of our new microwave oven.

Are Microwave Ovens History?

Are Microwave ovens a piece of history? Is there suddenly a new technology that makes Microwave Ovens obsolete? There always new technologies emerging and a killer product that replaces an older technology might change our lifes as we know them. Microwave Oven technology has not changed much since the 1980s and maybe it is time for a Microwave Oven Killer Product.

Merry Christmas

Finally I am finding some time to work on this blog. Christmas has been white for us this year. Santa arrived with lots of snow. He also arrived with lots of presents for everyone. The food has been good and we ate way too much. Even with snow we fired up the BBQ outside. We had bought Filet Mignon and that comes best from a good BBQ grill.

What else is going on? Well, I am also working on some of my websites. One of them is about dogs and dog stories.
